The Competition Commission, in its meeting on 19.03.2024, by Decision no. 1064, dated 19.03.2024 decided to aprove the Annual Report on the activity of the Competition Authority for the year 2023 and the main priorities for the year 2024.
Also, the Competition Commission considered 2 concentration notices.
- The proposed concentration obtained through the creation of a joint venture by the undertakings Miele Beteiligungs-GmbH (Interational Steel Co. S.p.A) and Metall Zug AG (Belimed AG and Belimed Life Science AG), with sole control by Miele.
The concentration will not create overlaps or upstream or downstream relationships between the activities of the parties at the national level and for these reasons, the intended transaction will not bring change and will not have an impact on the Albanian market.
- The concentration obtained through the creation of a joint undertaking, with full functions, Perutnina Ptuj Albania SHPK and the benefit of control from the latter over the undertakings Driza SHPK, Fresh Chicken Albania 2019 SHPK, Industria Foragjere (VEAF) JSC and the business of undertaking Euro Alb 2009 SHKP.
The proposed transaction will not increase the market power of any of the parties participating in the transaction and is not expected to bring problems for competition in terms of horizontal and vertical effects.
For these reasons, the Competition Commission by Decision no. 1065, dated 19.03.2024, decided to authorize the proposed concentration obtained through the creation of a joint venture by the undertakings Miele Beteiligungs-GmbH (Interational Steel Co. S.p.A) and Metall Zug AG (Belimed AG and Belimed Life Science AG), with sole control by Miele and by Decision no. 1066, dated 19.03.2024, decided to authorize the concentration obtained through the creation of a joint undertaking, with full functions, Perutnina Ptuj Albania SHPK and the benefit of control from the latter over the undertakings Driza SHPK, Fresh Chicken Albania 2019 SHPK, Industria Foragjere (VEAF) JSC and the business of undertaking Euro Alb 2009 SHKP.
