On November 16-17, 2022, the First International Conference on Competition and Consumer Protection was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. In this activity, the Competition Authority was represented by the Chairman of the Competition Authority, Mr. Denar Biba, who was invited as a speaker in the Session on “Essential facilities and refusal to supply, theory and practice (Abuse of dominant theoretical approaches and practical cases, essential trading partner).
Also, an important part of the agenda of this conference was the signing of the Cooperation Memorandum between the Albanian Competition Authority and the Georgian National Competition Agency, within the framework of strengthening the relations and cooperation of the Competition Authority with counterpart authorities in the international arena.
The signing of this Memorandum will encourage and strengthen cooperation in the implementation of competition law between the parties; exchange of non-confidential information on legislative developments and cases; organization of study visits, training of experts as well as participation in international conferences, symposiums and other seminars organized by the parties.
Many delegations from competition agencies of different countries, local and international experts, representatives of public agencies, the academic community, international organizations and the business sector participated in this Conference.
