In the framework of Competition Day, on December 5, 2025, the Competition Authority, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana, as well as the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana, the Faculty of Law of Qirjazi University College, the Faculty of Law of Epoka University, the Faculty of Law of the Mediterranean University and the European University of Tirana, organized the award ceremony for the essay competition dedicated to key topics of competition law.
This activity took place at the premises of the Faculty of Law and aimed to promote the culture of competition among the new generation, by introducing students to modern concepts of competition law and policies.
The Competition Authority expresses its gratitude for their cooperation and contribution, in particular to the following academics: Dr. Gentjan Skara (Epoka University), Dr. Fjoralba Caka (FDUT – UT), Dr. Luljeta Kodra (Mediterranean University), Prof. Assoc. Dr. Arjan Tushaj (Faculty of Economics – UT), Prof. Assoc. Dr. Erjola Aliaj (UET) and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Enida Bozheku (Dean of the Faculty of Law, Qirjazi University College).
The ceremony opened with the welcoming speech of Prof. Dr. Dorina Hoxha, Dean of the Faculty of Law, who appreciated the institutional cooperation and the importance of the academic development of students in the field of competition.
Following this, Mr. Denar Biba, Chairman of the Competition Authority, gave a lecture to the students present, through which he brought practical reflections on contemporary developments in competition policies in Albania and the EU, focusing on the challenges of dynamic markets and the importance of maintaining fair competition.
The highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of prizes to the winning students, authors of the best essays, who were awarded with certificates of appreciation for their commitment, critical analysis and creativity.
The activity closed in a motivating atmosphere, reaffirming the Competition Authority’s commitment to promoting education and awareness among young people in the field of competition, as an essential pillar for the development of an open and functional economy.
