Mrs. Leida Matja was elected a member of the Competition Authority Commission by Decision no. 29, dated 23.03.2017 of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania.Mrs. Matja completed her studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana in 1993. Since 2014, Mrs. Matja holds the scientific degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences, specializing inMarketing.Mrs. Matja has a considerable professional and academic experience.During the period 2001-2002, she worked for the KfW German Development Bank (Kreditanstaltfuer Wiederaufbau) as an economic consultant.In the period 2001-2005 she was the Head of a USAID Project, which made possible the implementation of 11 entrepreneurship programs throughout Albania. Mrs. Matja, from 1998 onwards, has a long-term academic contribution by being employed as a Lecturer of Marketing at the University of Tirana and later at the University “Aleksandër Moisiu”,in Durrës, where during the period 2012-2015, she also held the position of Head of the Human
Resources Department for Tourism. Mrs. Matja is widely involved in the sector of business consulting and is currently a member of the Board of Albanian Consultants Association. During the years 2012-2015, she held the position of President of the Albanian Tourism Association, she was a member of the Board of the
Association of Professional, Business and Artisan Women, as well as a collaborator of the association Business Albania.
Mrs. Matja has a long-standing cooperation with many foreign organizations such as: UNDP,EBRD, ETF, etc., contributing in conducting studies, surveys and offering consulting services.Currently, Mrs. Matja counts dozens of participations in conferences, as well as many publications in well-known scientific journals.
