Tirana, 15 April 2025 – A delegation from the Albanian Competition Authority, composed of Ms. Fatjola Delija, Member of the Competition Commission, Mr. Endi Çekani, Secretary General, and Mr. Albi Kolaneci, Inspector at the Directorate of Market Analysis and Methodology, conducted a working visit to Ankara, Turkey, from 13 to 15 April 2025, upon the invitation of the Turkish Competition Authority.
During the visit, the Albanian delegation was welcomed by the Vice President of the Turkish Competition Authority, as well as members of the Commission, and had the opportunity to closely observe the working processes and technologies used in the fields of market analysis, investigations, and monitoring in Turkey. The program also included meetings and exchanges of views aimed at enhancing inter-institutional cooperation and increasing the efficiency of both authorities.
The Albanian delegation was also introduced to several advanced presentations and practices in the field of competition, including investigative techniques during unannounced inspections, as well as important decisions of the Turkish Competition Authority concerning abuse of dominant positions in digital markets and actions taken against coordinated practices in the food industry. Special attention was given to the economic analysis theory in cases of abuse of dominance and unlawful competition practices.
This visit served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and exchange expertise between the two authorities, aiming to further improve market oversight and regulation, ensure fair competition, and protect consumer interests.
