The Competition Commission, based on the competition legislation in force, has authorized with Decision no. 875, dated 08.04.2022, the concentration realized through the acquisition of control of the company Mooney Group S.p.A. from the companies Banka 5 S.p.A. and Enel X S.r.l.
Mooney Group S.p.A. is a joint-stock company, established under the laws of Italy with the object of activity of providing services through a network of interconnected sales points in Italy (eg, tobacconists, bars and newsstands) and through digital platforms. Mooney Group S.p.A. also offers digital transport ticketing services in Italy through the MyCicero platform.
Bank 5 S.p.A. is a joint-stock company organized and existing under the laws of Italy with the object of activity providing banking services, as well as collection and payment services for monopoly sellers, such as tobacco dealers.
Enel X S.r.l. is a limited liability company, organized and existing under the laws of Italy with the object of activity focusing on the development of innovative products and digital solutions in areas where energy shows the greatest potential for transformation, e.g., smart cities and e-mobility .
Based on the competition analysis, the Commission assessed that the concentration will not create overlaps or upstream or downstream relations between the activities of the parties at the national level and for these reasons, the intended transaction will not bring about any change and will not have no impact on the Albanian market.
For these reasons, the Competition Commission decided to authorize the concentration realized through the acquisition of joint control of the company Mooney Group S.p.A. from the company Banca 5 S.p.A. and the company Enel X S.r.l.
